As the Bulat’s 55th anniversary approached, Larry was concerned that Gwen wouldn’t live to celebrate their special milestone together. Our palliative manager and team worked alongside the family to put together a very special 55th anniversary celebration here at Holmberg House. Family and friends gathered at this celebration to not only commemorate Gwen’s marriage but also the impact Gwen’s life had on those around her.
The Bulat’s family and friends were very grateful that Abbotsford Hospice Society took the initiative to oversee and organize all that was needed for this celebration to take place before Gwen’s death. This gave Gwen the opportunity to share special moments with her family and friends while reminiscing on life experiences and creating irreplaceable memories that the family could look back on for years to come. At a very difficult time of having to say goodbye, the family was able to spend time with Gwen before she passed away, leaving their hearts comforted and reassured.
