The Abbotsford Hospice Society is made up of employees and volunteers from all walks of life, with a variety of different skill sets, all of which meld beautifully into a warm community.

Currently we are accepting resumes for:

Volunteer Coordinator - part-time

This successful candidate will provide overall coordination of all volunteer activities for AHS. Some of the core job functions are:

  • ensuring accuracy of our volunteer database

  • arranging monthly volunteer meetings and events, including appreciation events

  • actively recruiting new volunteers

  • engaging with volunteers with regular check-ins, sending birthday cards, showing appreciation, etc.

Director of Development - full-time

This successful candidate will be responsible to develop strategies in fund-raising to achieve the comprehensive fund-raising objectives for the annual giving program, special projects and endowment while personally maintaining an active and growing portfolio of major gift supporters.

Some of the core job functions are:

  • Development of an annual fund-raising plan for the organization

  • Provide senior leadership for the fund-raising strategy and activation of strategy

  • Maintain an active portfolio of major gift accounts

  • Provide direction for the grant writing process for the organization

  • Contribute to annual budget plan for the organization

Since the Abbotsford Hospice Society is a community based charity, preference will be given to those who have a strong association with the community of Abbotsford.
