THE REASON

The Annual Holmberg Memorial Golf Classic was created to honour the memory of Dave and Lee Holmberg, and Dave Holmberg Jr.

Funds raised from the event support Holmberg House, Abbotsford’s hospice. Funds raised from this tournament also support the Nicholas Holmberg Memorial Scholarship, which AHGSS awards each year to youth in the community.

 

The Holmberg Memorial Golf Classic proudly supports AHGSS in its mission to provide compassionate, comprehensive palliative care to individuals facing life-limiting illness. Through this support, AHGSS is able to offer a wide range of end-of-life services that address physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, while also assisting families and loved ones with ongoing grief and bereavement support long after a loss has occurred.

In the past fiscal year alone, AHGSS positively impacted the lives of more than 30,000 individuals in our community, fostering personal transformation, comfort, and renewed hope during some of life’s most challenging moments. As AHGSS receives minimal government funding, support from events like the Holmberg Memorial Golf Classic is vital. Every dollar raised is directed toward sustaining and expanding essential programs and services that ensure no one in our community has to face end of life or grief alone.
