Building Six New Hospice Beds at Holmberg House
To meet the growing demand for compassionate end‑of‑life care, Abbotsford Hospice & Grief Support Society is expanding Holmberg House by adding six new hospice beds. This expansion is a critical step toward ensuring that individuals in our community can access dignified, specialized care in their final days. This expansion is part of a carefully planned and feasible project, with an initial investment of $3.5 million supporting construction, design, and the creation of welcoming, functional spaces throughout the hospice.
Local hospital capacity is already exceeded, leaving some patients without access to appropriate palliative care. Abbotsford Hospice & Grief Support Society provides a compassionate alternative - a peaceful, home-like environment where individuals and families can be together, supported with comfort, privacy, and specialized care.
The Opportunity
Through the Capital Campaign, donors can help fully equip each new hospice room, transforming it into a space of comfort and care.
Each of the 6 hospice room costs approximately $100,000 to furnish and equip, including:
