Jutta Holota Art Exhibition & Fundraiser
February 6th to 20th at The Reach
The works of art in this exhibition represent the passion of a local artist. Jutta Holota painted to preserve the natural splendor of her adopted homeland in the Fraser Valley. Jutta was the founding member of the Abbotsford Palette Club, which formed in 1966 with eight members. Within ten years, the club had grown to include over 80 artists ranging from beginners to near-professionals, and was drawing more than 1000 visitors to its annual exhibition.
Upon her passing on February 26, 2016, Jutta’s family offered these works of art to Abbotsford Hospice Society. The 40 plus paintings in this exhibition are being offered to the community on display at the Reach in the Studio. You can view and bid on these works during Reach opening hours, Tuesday to Sunday, 10 to 5 pm (closed on Mondays). We welcome you to bid generously and to attend a closing reception on February 20, when successful bidders will be announced. You do not have to attend this reception to secure a successful bid. If you would like to attend the closing reception, please register by emailing or call Marion at 604-852-2456.
As partners in this fundraiser, The Abbotsford Hospice Society (AHS) and The Reach will share the proceeds of the silent auction.
This year Abbotsford Hospice Society celebrates 32 years of community support, and two years since moving into a beautiful new facility at Holmberg House. Funds from this initiative will allow AHS to continue providing palliative patients in Abbotsford with a wide range of end-of-life services and provide their families and loved ones with immediate and long term grief support.
In 2018, The Reach celebrates its 10th anniversary as the center of cultural and creative innovation in the Fraser Valley. Funds raised in this auction will support art and history exhibitions, and exciting programs for all ages.
By bidding generously on a work of art, you will support two very worthwhile non-profit organizations in our community.
