As a pastor, I have walked with many families through the process of illness, death and grief. The support of the Hospice Society has helped people through grief and restored hope. I count it as a privilege to work with the AHS to ensure that the programs and Holmberg House meet the needs of the people of Abbotsford.
Matt grew up in Vancouver before settling in the lower mainland where he went on to obtain his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Fraser Valley. He currently works as a manager at MNP with the assurance group. Matt recently joined the board as he believes Hospice provides an invaluable service to families within the local community.
Gurjit has been in the Insurance market since 1995 in England where he worked with an Insurance
Company. He moved into Commercial Broking after 14 months and has remained in that ever since. He and his family moved to Vancouver in May 2014 and joined Marsh Vancouver.
· He has worked for some of the large National Brokers over the years and large Provincial Brokers in the UK and has wide range of experience in dealing with personal lines along with speciality covers and claims with composite insurers and Lloyds of London.
He started with our Foundation Board in 2015.
Ron Kelly was born in Vancouver in 1954 and grew up in Abbotsford. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Political Science in 1976 and his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) in 1979, both from the University of British Columbia. He articled with Baker Newby LLP in 1979 and has been with the Firm ever since.
Mr. Kelly has always been active in community affairs, serving as an executive member of the Abbotsford Community Foundation, the Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce, the Chilliwack-Fraser Rotary Club, and the Abbotsford Rotary Club. Professionally, he has served as the Chair of the Fraser Valley Bar Association and the Chilliwack Bar Association.
Mr. Kelly has 40 years’ experience in real estate and commercial law. He has extensive experience in acting for banks, credit unions, and other lending institutions. He also represents many clients in connection with complex real estate developments and strata property matters. He has lectured on these topics through the People’s Law School and the University of the Fraser Valley in both Abbotsford and Chilliwack.
Although his favorite pastime is travel, Mr. Kelly has always enjoyed returning to the Fraser Valley and the quality of life it represents to him.
