Celebrate A Life
At Christmas, every year, hundreds of people visit the Celebrate A Life booth. They may sign a
card to be placed on the tree in celebration of the life of that special person. A bulb is then lit on the
tree and each person leaving a memory is invited to take a "memory" a crocheted angel, created by our "Angel Moms" for
their own tree, to remind them of their visit. By Christmas Day, the tree is garnished with memory cards and glowing with the
light of remembrance. Abbotsford Hospice Society invites you to celebrate loved ones at our display in Seven Oaks Mall[map], from
the 4th through the 16th of December, as you "Leave a Memory and Take a Memory".

Thank you, Envision Financial, for becoming naming sponsor of the second annual Fashion Fantasy, with proceeds going to
Abbotsford Hospice Society. This sold-out Hearts for Hospice Committee event was held on Tuesday, 17 October, at the Ramada Plaza.
The event itself included a raffle of twelve items, donated by the participating clothing stores, other businesses, and artists. The
evening's "featured raffle prize" was donated by Lee's Fine Jewellery.
It was a fabulous, custom-designed pendant of ammonite and diamonds, strung on a lovely pearl necklace. We also had a "Balloon Pop"
for prizes; a champagne reception, sponsored by Mr. Paul Esposito Sr.; pre-show entertainment provided by the local duo "White
Chocolate" (featuring the voices of Joanne Chiasson and Frederick Pleasure II); and a fabulous dessert buffet.

It seems that great joy comes from dunking one’s friends, colleagues and favourite celebrities. This was evidenced by peals of
laughter and celebration as dozens of adults and children lined up to try their luck at the dunk tank during the annual Snowbirds
Autograph Session on August 10th at the Best Western Regency Inn. Co-sponsored by the Abbotsford News the event provided an
opportunity to meet the Snowbirds Pilots as well as members of the Abby Police (Police Chief Ian McKenzie was among the “dunkees”).
In addition, a celebrity dunk tank raised funds for the Abbotsford Hospice Society. AHS wishes to thank the sponsors of the event
as well as dunk tank “participants”: Alvin Epp, Rex Leonard, Aird Flavelle, Joe Millican, Milt Walker, MLA, John vanDongen, Ross
Brown, Karen Landon, Mark Taylor, Dan Stefanson and Abbotsford Police Chief Constable Ian Mackenzie.
