CLIENT SUPPORT TRAINING (BEREAVEMENT AND PALLIATIVE) For those volunteers interested in palliative and bereavement care as it relates to one-on-one support for clients. 30-hour certificate course. Cost: $150 – includes membership in the Abbotsford Hospice Society. Pre-requisite: Completion of Introduction and Orientation training.
Course objectives: Describe and practise the role of companioning palliative or bereaved clients Practise and reflect on effective communication skills in end of life care Describe the dying process and the Hospice Palliative Care Philosophy Explain the effects of terminal illness on a family unit Discuss Grief as a Process
